  1. All visitors to Ghana must have a passport of legal travel document that is valid for 6 months after returning to Nigeria.
  2. All visitors entering Ghana must have valid entry visas or in the case of commonwealth nationals, entry permits issued by a Ghana Diplomatic Mission or Consulate abroad or any other visa issuing authority mandated by the Ghana Government to act on its behalf. (ECOWAS nationals and those of other countries with which the Government of Ghana has specific bilateral agreements, are exempted).
  3. Visas may be granted to personnel of international organizations and visitors to Ghana for tourism, study, business or transit.
  4. The visa may be granted for single or multiple entry.
  5. Children travelling on parent’s passport are required to pay half the fee paid by adults.
  6. Visa application fees are non-refundable after submission
At least three (3) working days are required for the processing of visa applications.

Payments should be made by cash. Bank or post bank transfers are not acceptable.

Visitors must possess a valid return or connecting flight ticket. Names, addresses and telephone numbers of two (2) references are required, one of which can be the hotel where you will be lodging. Applications for extension of stay of visitors permit must be made to the Director of the Ghana Immigration Service for consideration. Persons who enter the country as visitors are not permitted to take up employment even if there happens to be a vacancy on the immigrant quota of a prospective employer.
