Restrictions in South Africa under Level 1 Lockdown
- Inter-provincial travel is permitted.
- All retail stores will remain open.
- Gatherings will be limited to 50% of venue capacity, up to a maximum of 1000 people indoors and 2 000 people outdoors.
- Alcohol sales from retail outlets are permitted as normal.
- No consumption of alcohol in public spaces, including parks and beaches.
- Wearing a cloth mask or similar covering over the nose and mouth is mandatory when in public.
- Social distancing and health protocols are still in place.
International air travel will only be permitted from OR Tambo International Airport, King Shaka International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and Lanseria International Airport.
On Arrival in South Africa the following will apply:
- Travellers will need to present a negative COVID PCR Test that has been done no more than 72 hours prior to departure
- All travellers will be screened on arrival and anyone presenting with symptoms will be required to take another COVID test and might be required to quarantine a their own cost in a government facility
- Travellers must download the COVID Alert Mobile App
- On departure from South Africa back to the clients home country another COVID PCR test must be done 48-72 hours prior (these details can depend on the airline used for travel)
- An approximate cost for a COVID test is anywhere from R500-R1300per person. This must be done with a registered health practitioner or registered laboratory
- Travel Insurance is mandatory
- Clients must travel with their accommodation confirmations
